Esquire's Best New Restaurants: LA Barely Represents

Not only did All' Angelo make Esquire's 2007 Best New Restaurants in America list, but it's the only one representin' LA. John Mariani says:

Owner-sommelier Stefano Ongaro and Milanese chef Mirko Paderno, both graduates of the illustrious Valentino in Santa Monica, stuck to their principles at All' Angelo, which is easily the best Italian restaurant to open in the city in a decade.
Wow. This is the first time "best Italian restaurant" and "Mozza" weren't uttered in the same sentence since forever. Kudos to Ongaro and Paderno.

More Esquire Best of 2007 reads: words a manager should never use; big menus, slate menus, big plates, and other things to ban ; and Dominique Crenn picked as a chef to watch. Too bad we can't watch her at Abode anymore.
