EaterWire: Bond Street Opening Soon, Citizen Smith Plans 'Expansion'

BEVERLY HILLS: We got a tip from our friends at HotelChatter (the Eater of the hotel world) yesterday: "Bond Street restaurant in the Thompson Beverly Hills hotel is opening in 'a few weeks'. We also heard a November opening date so am not sure if 'a few weeks' means closer to November or before October is out or what." First, we're not entirely sure if it's Bond Street, Bond St or BONDST, as we've seen it written every way, but we do know that it's a third outpost of Jonathan Morr's successful NYC sushi spot (there's another in Miami). The hotel's website suggests a November opening. [EaterWire Inbox]

HOLLYWOOD: We left heads scratching over the fate of Citizen Smith the other day, but a well-placed source tell us that not only has the resto/lounge/venue gone through many chefs since it opened, but "the ownership has changed." Apparently the original managing partner was bought out by a minority investor, and he bought out everyone else and plans to expand the "concept" to other "urban" markets. What concept? The one that's not working or the one we're yet to know more about? Inquiring minds want to know. [EaterWire Inbox]
