MELROSE/FAIRFAX: We got the text on our way to the Comme Ca party last night: "Did Table 8 go under? It's totally closed right now." Around 7pm, Wednesday. Our fellow revelers were on their way to grab a drink and a bite before the party, only to find closed gates, no lights, nothing. We called Table 8 at that moment and got voicemail. Has Table 8 finally thrown in the towel? Did the new dark decor keep people away? Another 'redesign'? We heard chef Govind Armstrong and a few AWFF chefs had a little party in the restaurant early Sunday morning (after the after party), everyone swapping stories, cooking, drinking, eating. So the restaurant exists. Govind also publicly said the restaurant isn't going anywhere. But us, the horrible bloggers, will throw the question out there: If it's not going anywhere, why was Table 8 closed last night?
