Eater Inside: S Bar

Alen Lin, 10/29/07

We've been in, but some haven't; some want to go in, others don't. And then there are the rules. The point of contention: the Philippe Starck-designed, SBE-owned S Bar, the counterpart to Katsuya Hollywood, which just opened a few weeks ago. With the upside down lamps and the photo canvas of Versailles in the background, it almost looks cartoonish; then again, there is Alice in Wonderland playing in ceiling plasma-screen TVs in the bathroom, so maybe that's the point. Wacky cocktails like pomegranate-horseradish margaritas seem fitting, then.
