We know, we know: It's Eater, not Drinker. But we just got double-whammied with news about Villa, which opened in the former Monroe's spot on Melrose. This snap and a note from yesterday: "Villa (fka Monroe's) was open last night. Two bouncers stood outside the doors, didn't seem very crowded. Couldn't tell what kind of crowd it would be." Reza Roohi took over the spot from Peter Garland (still a silent partner) and turned it into a lounge that "has the feel of an exclusive house party in the hills," complete with beds upstairs. Didn't SATC kill that trend? As for the crowd, Roohi worked for SBE, so there you go.
