One of downtown's earlier revitalists, R23 doubled in size recently. As previously noted, the owners took over the gallery space next door and added these modular walls with art from a young Japanese artist named Ichiro. Consider these dining pods, if you will, with a sake bar in the center. This new space is mostly used on the weekends, but with the holiday party season about to swing, we imagine it will be used plenty during the week, too. According to flackage, the sushi menu remains with additional hot items like wonton-wrapped steamed salmon cake or grilled stuffed duck with ponzu.
