HOLLYWOOD: Way way way back in July, when it made sense to open a new ice cream shop, we learned that Icepan has its sights on LA, specifically in the Gateweay Center at Santa Monica and La Brea. Icepan's gimmick is you pick the kind of milk and toppings for your ice cream, and someone who may or may not look like the woman above mixes it up on a frozen steel plate. (We found her on a promotional video on the company website.) To counteract Pinkberry's "swirly goodness," they call Icepan "innovative freshness." We call it frozen overkill. According to this Cragislist ad, the store will open on December 14.
