Someone just sent us a link to the LAT's online version of The Guide, which is still in beta testing but usable. Consider this the soft opening, so please reserve heavy criticism for the official launch in January (although there is a link on the site to voice yourselves). We're curious how this differs from Metromix (it already looks similar), but a little birdie tells us that it's completely different content and will cover all of SoCal, not just LA and environs. Plus it will have LAT archives, including restaurant reviews from the last five years. The new year isn't soon enough: Trying to find some of those good Guide stories on the LAT website now blows.
