Sometimes you have to be wrong to get it right: Joe Miller's new tapas bar, Bar Pinxto, will not be on the Third Street Promenade, as we reported yesterday. Now we hear the location will be next to BOA Steakhouse, on the Santa Monica Blvd. side, replacing an oft-overlooked Greek restaurant called Skorpio's. Byrd at the shiny new Fashionably Late blog remembers hearing about the project on some free-flowing champagne night and finally comes out of the fog with some deets?casually hip, upscale after-work scene where people can relax, have fun and good food; farmer's market, Mediterranean; late summer opening. He says, "Think beat the competition: Wilshire, Boa, Sushi Roku, Ma'Kai. Actually, how perfect would it be if Ma'Kai was sold and turned into Joe's new place??? I'm just sayin'..." Last time we walked by Ma'Kai it was dead, so yeah, we could see it.
