With Area, Hyde, Privilege, Lobby, Katsuya, and the Abbey under his belt, Sam Nazarian practically owns LA's nightlife scene. But that's all just a practice run: His LA-based SBE Entertainment group put a bid on the aging Sahara Hotel and Casino in Vegas. The hotel is so far removed from its Rat Pack heyday with a NASCAR café loose slots, cheap tables, and a rollercoaster as its only draws, so Nazarian has his work cut out for him. But he fashions himself a pioneer, and that northern part of the Strip is a vast wasteland right now. All the restaurants and nightlife will be managed by SBE, which means a mega Hyde or Katsuya could be in the works.
