We knew that nightlife empress Shereen Arazm (Concorde, Shag, El Centro) bought the shuttered BlackSteel a few months ago, but we had no idea she was keeping BlackSteel's former chef and owner, Chef J, in the kitchen. Arazm's new restaurant Parc opens this weekend with less goth and more organic elements like a lighter color palette and natural woods, including a 14-foot tree in the middle of the room. There's an oyster, caviar and champagne bar, plus Chef J's French-pan-Asian menu (French onion miso soup, clay pot black cod, lamb chops with rosemary ginger port sauce). Next up for Arazm: Terroni in the former Authentic Café space, and a few more "top secret spots" by the end of the year.
