EaterWire PSA: Dine Out LA & SM Farmer's Market 25th

We're not ones to always tout the food events, but this is the beginning of gorging-for-a-good-cause season. From here on out, expect to hear about a few Eater-sanctioned to do's until you're appropriately stuffed.

(1) One of the better philanthropic foodie events is Dine Out LA, which takes place this Thursday, April 19. Why is it better than the others? Eat in any one of 80 different restaurants, and they'll donate 20% or more of that day’s proceeds to Aid For AIDS. Some participants include Celadon, the new Kado Sushi at the Farmer's Market, Cha Cha Cha, The Hungry Cat, Lucques, M Cafe de Chaya, The Abbey, Vincenti, and at least one Pinkberry (the WeHo original). For the full list, go here.

(2) For a mere 100 bucks, you can meet chefs like Sherry Yard, Neal Fraser, Gregg Wangard, Michael Cimarusti, Michael McCarty, Mark Peel, Josie Le Balch, Alain Giraud, David Lefevre, Joe Miller, Josiah Citrin, and Suzanne Goin at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market 25th Anniversary dinner this Sunday, April 15. They and many more will be on deck with many of the farmer's that keep their kitchens and our plates full of the seasonal ingredients we've grown to love. The reception and dinner takes place at the Loews Santa Monica Hotel starting at 6pm, all emcee'd by KCRW's "Good Food" host Evan Kleiman. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and they're going fast. Call 310.455.0181 for more info.
