EaterWire: Seven Grand Opens Tonight, Romanov an Eyesore?, Autry BBQ Fest

DOWNTOWN: According to Heidi Siegmund Cuda, Cedd Moses' new Seven Grand Whiskey Bar will open to the public tonight, with a grand grand opening on May 10. "The lodge-style bar is filled with surprises: duck-hunting-gone-wrong dioramas, deer heads with loads of personality, wall-mounted jackalopes and the skeletal remains of road kill." We can handle anything as long as lots of whiskey is involved, and Seven Grand supposedly has more than 200 kinds. [LAT]

GRIFFITH PARK: There's a barbecue cook-off at the Autry National Center tomorrow April 14, but we find out on Chowhound that you can't eat the contestant's que. $9 admission gets you on the grounds, into the museum, and the smell of sweet barbecue---that you can't eat---in the air. [Chowhound]

STUDIO CITY: Not everyone has a czar's taste: A Curbed reader nominated the new Russian-themed Romanov for our brother's Ugliest Building contest. "It is obviously hideous, but it also doesn't seem to know what style it is. Part Valley strip mall, part Taj Mahal, part Kremlin along with some of the old roof line (mid-century/almost chalet) showing on the side???" [Curbed LA]
