The man celebrates in style. Rena Kosnett/LA Weekly
It's not that LA Weekly's food critic Jonathan Gold simply won a Pulitzer for his Counter Intelligence column, it's that he's the first food writer to ever win a Pulitzer Prize for Distinguished Criticism. For "his zestful, wide ranging restaurant reviews, expressing the delight of an erudite eater," Gold gets $10,000 and another notch in the ol' awards belt (he has four James Beard awards). Pat, maybe there's something to that barbecued pig uterus eating thing. Congrats, Mr. Gold!
