Look what we stumbled upon last night: The Foundry on Melrose in the midst of friends and family service. Poking our heads in, we saw a nice bustling room, cement floors, attractive light fixtures, banquettes to the left, small bar with baby grand piano in the front. Walking towards the patio, we spotted chef/owner Eric Greenspan doing his thing through the kitchen window. In back, a lovely little outdoor setting with an olive tree in one corner, linen-topped tables, flickering candles. We spied an aquaintance whose entrees just arrived (a thick piece of what looked like halibut on one plate and short ribs, perhaps, on the other?). Official opening is tomorrow, Tuesday May 1.
