The Dish: Jay's Jayburger Now Sean's Burgers, Now Open

The Jay's Jayburger replacement, Sean's Burgers, has officially opened on the Los Feliz/Hollywood border. Jay's closed in 2005 but the little shack remained even as development went up around it. We never went, but according to Mike over at Franklin Avenue, Jay's had die-hard fans. Apparently a Hound stumbled upon the shack yesterday and gave it a test drive. He writes:

The chili cheeseburger wasn’t half bad. The patty was large. It hung out the sides of the standard-sized bun. The chili wasn’t award-winning, but it was perfect for a burger. The tomato was fresh, and the onion added a nice sweetness. By the time I got it home, the flavors had kind of melded. But it wasn’t soggy. The meal was $5 and change, including tax. Priced perfectly I reckon. This was a good meal, and Sean’s has unseated my current favorite, Molly’s for best quick hamburger.
Inquiring minds want to know: Who is this Sean and why does he want to serve burgers out of a shack? If you're Sean or have the answer, drop us a note.
