EaterWire: Tinto Coming to WeHo, Changes at Ole! Tapas Bar, The Abbey Launches New, More Comforting Menu

WEST HOLLYWOOD: We dug a little deeper into that upcoming tapas bar we dished about yesterday. Officially, the name is Tinto, owned by Reg Macdonald and Steve Weitzman, the duo behind Tokio in Hollywood. Story still developing? [EaterWire]

WEST HOLLYWOOD: When SBE partnered with The Abbey, we knew subtle changes would come about eventually. A new menu was just launched with a lot of comfort food-style additions like mini tacos, grilled cheese and soup, and braised short ribs for dinner (naturally?what restaurant dares to not serve short ribs these days). That's just a taste. Chef Gail Defferari (SF's XYZ and Universal Café) consulted on the menu. We also learn that SBE wants to take The Abbey on the road, and they're looking at cities like San Fran, Miami, and Las Vegas. Perhaps it will go into Sam Nazarian's newly purchased Sahara Hotel? STUDIO CITY: Reader Carter alerted us a few weeks ago that Ole! Tapas Bar had a change in ownership, which means that Patrice Lambert, who also owned the spot when it was Tournesol, is out. Then we found out that Ole! was removed from OpenTable last week, and when we called the restaurant just now, an odd phone message says that number "can't take your call." Not disconnected, just couldn't take our call. Ole! may/may not be closed and/or closing is about all we can say. [EaterWire]
