EaterWire: Fred 62 Closed?, Koi Back to an 'A,' Napa Valley Grille Goes Late Night, Katana's Patio Party

LOS FELIZ: Eater reader Sam writes in: "Wondering if you knew why Fred 62 was closed? We drove by yesterday night around 11pm." A simple call, and we're told the 24-hour diner had to "close for maintenance." Now, if you scroll through Eater, you'll find that almost ever restaurant that's shuttered by the DOH, some employee always says they had to "close for maintenance" when you call. Unfortunately, the website for DOH closures isn't as current as we'd like, so unless someone drives by and sees a sign at Fred 62 saying otherwise, they "closed for maintenance" but will hopefully reopen for lunch by tomorrow. WEST HOLLYWOOD: We got a note in the ol' Eater inbox that Koi is back to its clean status: "Koi is back to an A. They had a B for two days. Health Dept came back two days later and revised their grade to an A. Maybe you should be reporting that Belmont has a C or Toast has a B..." Well now, we don't know that for sure about Belmont or Toast, but it sounds like there's a little La Cienega rivalry afoot. [EaterWire Inbox]

WEST HOLLYWOOD: The Sunset Strip's Katana starts is annual Sunday summer parties on May 27. DJs, special menu items, fresh *cough* air, all from 6pm to 11:30pm. [EaterWire Inbox]

WESTWOOD: Tired of the fighting the co-eds for a seat and horrible food at the Westwood Brewing Company? Rejoice: The Napa Valley Grill now serves a late-night menu until midnight Monday thru Friday. Pizzettes, kobe burgers, mac and cheese, just what you need before bed. [EaterWire Inbox]
