Post-Plywood Special Report: Nonna

WEST HOLLYWOOD: The Joss space on Sunset (next to Blowfish Sushi) has been boarded up for quite awhile now; we had a little fun with it back in January. Well some excellent Plywood pics were uploaded to the Eater LA Flickr pool today showing that the new restaurant is Nonna, the barrier has been romoved, and activity is afoot. Some public hearing records from late last year name Scott Zacky as the main proprietor, with chef Paolo Giovanni working up a fairly conventional Italian menu. We think Giovanni was at the short-lived Solare, but is Zacky the guy from Zacky Farms poultry family**, and has he owned a restaurant before? We don't know for sure. But thanks to our Eater spy, we know the DOH already gave the restaurant an 'A,' and thanks to our handy dialing skills, we know the restaurant is on the verge of opening: "Maybe next week."

**UPDATE: We knew, dear readers, you wouldn't let us down. This just in: "Yes Scott Zacky is the chicken farmer. Or more accurately, the son of the chicken farmer. I think the chef was also at Il Sole on Sunset for awhile." So there you have it.
