WEST HOLLYWOOD: Yesterday word hit that Bastide will finally open on September 5 and that the reservation lines would open by days end, but as of noon today, the outgoing message still says (in French accent, natch): "Thank you for calling Bastide. We are closed for maintenance and renovations until further notice." After months of toying and silence, it's announced out of thin air that the restaurant will finally open in one week. We'll believe it when we see it. Naturally we'll keep a close eye on the reservation line and report any signs of movement.
