Shortly after BottleRock opened in Culver City, Adam Fleischman---one of the founders and the face of the wine bar---left. There was (and still is) some litigation, and we don't exactly know what happened, but no matter now. A project that Fleischman alluded to last year has finally come to fruition: Vinoteque, a wine bar, shop and live entertainment venue located on Sepulveda in Culver City, closer to Mar Vista, "the airport corridor." The space was actually three separate shops, so one will be a retail wine space, and the other two will be for sipping, noshing on tapas, watching live jazz, etc. The designer is Ana Henton, the same woman who did Silverlake Wines and Bread Bar in Century City. Fleischman says there's nothing like this around the nabe, and he's taking a little bit of a risk, but other neighborhoods like downtown Culver City and WeHo are getting too congested. It's all about outlying areas now. Target date for Vinoteque: March 1.
