Newcomer Verdugo Bar got some love in the New York Times Styles section on Sunday. Tips on getting in: "First, get past the icky exterior, then heave open the heavy security door. Close it quickly." Ah, Glassell Park. The bar had a shaky start---first opening, then closing, then not really telling anyone that they were open again, and not keeping a set schedule. But the bar officially opens Thu-Sat now, 8pm-2am, as the email flyer we get every week reminds us. (3408 Verdugo Rd, 323.257.3408) [NYT]
