The recently opened, recently two-starred Blanca in Newport Beach has already changed concepts, but that's not the big news. What is: After bouts with repo men and a staff exodus, the restaurant developers, The Mor Project, "seemed to disappear off the face of the world," according to the OC Weekly's food blog. The LA connection: Someone's calling out the Mor Group's Anton Posniak--who was one of the investors with Star Group Management which owned Paladar, Nacional, and Tengu among others---for pulling a fast one on Blanca's (and Irezumi Sushi's) investors. According to the (unknown and somewhat suspect) Rip Off Report, Posniak split with SGM (now known as Choice Hospitality) for "comingling funds." [Stick a Fork In It]
