It's just not looking good for the restaurant industry these days. The LAT's Money & Co. blog reports that because of high food costs and slumping sales, stocks are falling for many chains, including locally owned California Pizza Kitchen and Cheesecake Factory. And USA Today says that more than 1,000 "casual dining" chain restaurants will close in the next year, but offers a remedy to aid the rest: Be more unique because right now it's one big landscape of TGIchilirubyapplennigans.
