This pretty little number is Bar Delux, a new Cahuenga Corridor nightspot designed by Kristofer Keith and Spacecraft Design and co-owned by Adolfo Suaya. The space isn't quite finished yet but there have been a few private little shindigs; menu details are still in the works (there will be, has to be, some sort of food; last we heard The Foundry's Eric Greenspan was consulting); and we're not sure if it will be an exclusive, promoter-only spot or if anyone can sit for a martini and absord all this Art Deco glory (mahogany wood paneling, marble bar, backlit mural, dripping crystal chandeliers, the "ladies lounge" upstairs). We're hoping for the latter because it's much too lovely for that ridiculous bottle service-only business. With so many of Suaya's places recently shuttered (Goa, Charcoal) there is a question of longevity, but maybe keeping something open more than a year just isn't that important. The opening, if all goes as it should, is soon: There's an official "media preview" next Monday, with the public welcome shortly after that.
