Food costs might be on the rise, but white truffle prices are down: An 850-gram white truffle from northern Italy sold for around $30,900 at the 10th Annual World Alba White Truffle Auction in Tokyo last night, about 84 percent less than a truffle sold at the auction last year (by weight). Even if prices are "down," you're still paying a bundle for the delicacy in LA. [Bloomberg; ELA]
