Cole's Opening Date Announced, 100-Cent Sandwiches

New, 4 comments

It's really just days before 100-year-old Cole's reopens after a $1.6 million renovation overseen by Cedd Moses and 213 Inc. We're told it will soft open the last week of November, but the public is welcome to partake in special "100 cent" sandwiches, sides and slices of pie on December 6 (12pm-4pm). As previously mentioned, expect the classics with a Neal Fraser twist and overseen by exec chef Michael Dinon, and the refurbished bar for beers and Moses' cocktail style. (Varnish, the speakeasy back bar won't open for a few more months.) We still can't see inside, but press materials say 213 restored the space to evoke classic Western saloons, circa 1908: orginal glass lighting, Penny tile floors, Tiffany-commissioned glass panels, the mahogany bar, claret-colored ceilings. Outside, the original Cole's P.E. Buffet Public signs are now uncovered, which will stay even though the new name is officially Cole's, Originators of the French Dip.
