So here we have the almost almost finished Drago Centro at City National Plaza, readying to soft open this coming Saturday (Nov. 29). The white leather chairs, caramel banquettes, wine-filled glass box, textured wallpaper and black Murano chandeliers are just as Celestino Drago promised; the bar's Enomatic wine system is well-stocked; and views into the kitchen should keep the loungers enthralled at least until something interesting comes on the TVs. The patio---dining and lounge---are still being put together. As previously mentioned, the menu is a mix of Drago's traditional Italian classics and contemporary reinterpretations of others, all to be carried out by chef de cuisine Ian Gresik. After this weekend, the restaurant fully opens on Tuesday beginning with lunch, so let the holiday happy hours commence. Ressie lines are indeed open. [525 South Flower St, 213.228.8998; website]
