Cole's Update: Inside Semi-Revealed

We already know the opening date for Cole's is December 6 (with $1 French dips, no less), but the soft opening will probably happen this month---training officially begins this week. And although they're still adding finishing touches on the interior, here's a look at the refurbished bar. Still looks old, which means Cedd Moses' promise that the space combines original elements with contemporary additions to match rings true. Preservationists can now breathe easy. Expect the same outside, which will see new awnings coupled with the original "Cole's P.E. Buffet, Originators of the French Dip" signage noticed last week. For anyone needing to stretch those brain muscles, there's a little interactive trivia game on the Cole's website, complete with swipes at the "others" who claim they created the French dip, and can-can dancers for winning answers.
