Cantaloop Sees Beyond the Froyo

New, 9 comments

Fairly early in the Froyo Wars (April 2007, to be exact) Cantaloop joined the frozen yogurt fray with its first shop on the corner of Hollywood and La Brea. And now, late 2008, they're already redevoloping the concept, at least at this location (there are four others, all independently owned). Why? The Great Melt, no doubt, and the only way to stay significant is with change: Signs on the windows promise a new look, gourmet coffee, steel-cut oatmeal and waffles. Waffles! It's also going self-serve, the wave of the future. (Sidenote: Who has money on Pinkberry adding self-serve locations in 2009?) It's rumored that this more waffley Cantaloop will reopen sometime next week.
