Restaurant Week 2009: More Restos, Higher Prices

New, 10 comments

Reminders that DineLA's Restaurant Week occurs in January are starting to fill the inbox, and while everything is pretty much the same---prix fixe lunches and dinners offered at restaurants around LA---we did notice one thing: Prices are slightly higher. Not that it's shocking (rising food costs, recession, etc.), but noticeable. Three-course lunches will be $16, $22 or $28, and/or dinners for $26, $34 or $44 this year, as oppsed to $15 or $22 (lunch) and $25 and $34 (dinner). There are, of course, a lot of chains on the list (Roy's, Daily Grill, Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, and, oh yes, Bubba Gump), but we'll also see menus from The Bazaar by Jose Andres, Gordon Ramsay at the London, Akasha, Comme Ca, Grace and a slew of others where you wouldn't usually be able to escape without dropping at least $75 a person. Restaurant Week goes from Jan. 25-30 and Feb. 1-6.
