The Claremont restaurant fire we heard about yesterday was for reals: The Forks Chop House (nee Three Forks) suffered major damages from a fire early Tuesday morning. The Forks got almost three stars from the Los Angeles Times, and we've heard nothing but good reports from others who've ventured out to the foothill community. Owner Mark Bollinger got the call that his restaurant was in flames from his brother at 4am: "When I got here, it looked like it's the end of the world. There were 10 firetrucks outside...the kitchen is totally destroyed." If there's any silver lining, lucky for them their chef, Eric Osley, lives in the lofts above the restaurant and initially reported the fire. No one was injured, and the restaurant is closed until further notice.
