After months of diligent tracking, we finally receive official flackage about Cecconi's, the Soho House sibling taking over the former Morton's space on Melrose and Robertson. Other than what we already knew---an offshoot of the original London Cecconi's, Italian menu, a similar kelly green, black and white interior---we now learn that Mirko Paderno will helm the kitchen. Paderno opened All' Angelo last year, and before that he was at Dolce and Valentino among others. Cecconi's will have "relaxed, refined Italian food" for breakfast, lunch and dinner, bellinis, and an espresso bar. Just what this city needs. Opening target is closer than we thought, considering it was just a big hole last month: They want to open by the end of February.
