Initial Projection: September 2008
Current Projection: Probably early 2009
We've received so many queries about the new West Hollywood Tender Greens, it was time for a spot check. There's signage, ABC licenses hanging, work is definitely happening inside the space, and the late summer/early fall target date has come and gone, but you can't blame only restaurant contractors and city inspectors for delays. Because it's anchoring the corner of the Hancock Lofts on the corner of SMB and Hancock, there's obviously more to this than just redo the space and open the doors. The building is still very much under construction, and word is Tender Greens open date has been bumped from "end of this year" to early next. Owner David Dressler told Grubtrotters many moons ago that while he and business partners Matt Lyman and Erik Oberholtzer are expanding the brand (they were also looking at spaces in Burbank, Tarzana, Hollywood and maybe Santa Monica), all they want is a high-traffic area with decent parking. At least this corner has the former. The way the lines are at the original Culver City location, however, we have no doubt Boystown will take to it ravenously.
