EaterWire: Block Parties Tonight, All Weekend

MID-CITY: Tonight more than 60 merchants along West 3rd Street (from La Cienega to Fairfax) are throwing down a huge party tonight from 6pm-9pm. Look for refreshments at Joan's, Izakaya by Katsu-ya, Kiss My Bundt and Toast. And of course, pop into the Cook's Library. The best part: Free valet at 10 different stands along the way.[Racked LA; photo credit]

DOWNTOWN: So much happening downtown these days---Cole's, L.A. Live---that we shouldn't forget everyone else. Blogdowntown has deets on the Old Bank District Block Party happening this weekend. In addition to music, an art bazaar and charity booths, Pete's Cafe, Warung Cafe and Rocket Pizza will be have special holiday menus and will donate proceeds to Chrysalis, The Salvation Army and the Midnight Mission. (Saturday, Dec. 6; 6pm-12am). [Blogdowntown]

MID-CITY: And then there's the Beverly Boulevard Block Party from Pan Pacific Park to La Brea Avenue. Look for sales and specials at retailers and restaurants like Grace, which will open the bar at 1pm for spiked cider, and opens for dinner early (5pm) for burger night. BLD will have free eggnog or spiked hot chocolate for people who spend $75 or more at any of the participating merchants that day. Other restaurants include Ita-Cho, Kokomo, Susina Bakery and Buddha's Belly. All the businesses (designated by posters in the window) will donate proceeds from the day to the Saban Free Clinic. (Sunday, Dec. 7; 1pm-5pm) [Eater Inbox]
