Basque Leaves Big, Empty Hole at Hollywood and Vine

New, 8 comments

That's the NW corner of Hollywood and Vine, previously home of the Basque nightclub which burned down in April. Obviously no chance of it coming back now, even after activists tried to salvage what was left of the building. A space completely razed space like this could only mean one thing: More condos, or mixed use, but probably residential. That red building in the background is the new Palihouse on Vine, which Curbed says is slated to open in Spring 2009. Recall that chef Brendan Collins, who was at Anisette briefly but now heading operations at the Palihouse Halloway, plans a "Britalian" concept at the Vine location.
