Citrus Goes Bistro in Menu Only, Not Decor

After opening chef Revi Lauvand left Citrus at Social in August, we were promised a new, scaled-back menu along with a new chef. So now that chef Omri Aflalo is firmly in place, we have that new menu. Based on Michel Richard's "bistro favorites," the price points are much, much lower, and the majority of dishes are of the "share (or not)" variety, so, yes, small plates. Chicken nuggets as only Richard could do (to go along with those clarified butter fries), mussel chowder, onion tarts, the chicken faux gras. There are still a few entrees, but most are in the $20 range---a far cry from the $30-$40 range they opened with. They even knocked off a buck from the sides. So not even Chodorow and Richard are immune from this economic climate. The room, however, is still the same; maybe this new menu can finally fill it up.
