Eater PSA: Restaurants for the LA Tap Project

New, 2 comments

Now that Los Angeles has the best municipal water in the country, something like the Tap Project should be a breeze. During World Water Week (March 16-22), Los Angeles restaurants are encouraging their guests to donate $1 for the tap water they normally drink for free. Hey, it's filtered anyway. The money will help children around the world get safe drinking water---one whole dollar can get a kid 40 days of clean drinking water in a place like Mudtukadu, India. Last year New York City restaurants raised more than $100,000 in one day, and this year the program has been extended to other cities. So far, LA participating restaurants include Abode, Craft, BOA Steakhouse, Lucques, Honey's Kettle Fried Chicken, Ortolan, Ocean and Vine, Wilshire and more. Interested restaurants just sign up on the Tap website and you'll get Unicef materials in the mail. It costs nothing. Simple.
