Lovie Yancey, Founder of Fatburger, 96

Lovie Yancey, who opened a burger stand after WWII because "hamburgers were the fastest selling sandwich in America," died on January 26 of pneumonia. Yancey expanded to Beverly Hills in the 70s, started franchising in the 80s, and sold the company in the 90s, but Fatburger always kept a down-home LA flavor. [LAT]
