BLT Revealed, Opening Soon

And yet another restaurant having its grand opening party but not really close to opening is Laurent Tourondel's BLT Steak, which took over the former Le Dome space on Sunset Boulevard. As you see above, it's retained nothing of its former self, and although it looks lighter and brighter than most steakhouses, it still has masculine, steaky feel. Perhaps this new incarnation can renew it's once firm grasp on hosting the Industry power elite, even with so many new steakhouses in town. Swanky party tonight (check back for full report tomorrow), but the final permits haven't come through, and it won't/can't open to the public until that's all ironed out. Damn West Hollywood. The staff has been training, but as of yet, no friends and family, no preview dinners, and surely Tourondel is one to practice before perfect, no? Let's hope. The restaurant says they aren't taking reservations but will start booking on April 1. No harm in testing the waters anyway. (8720 Sunset Blvd, 310.360.1950)
