BEVERLY HILLS: It was only a month ago that we said "once a French bistro always a French bistro," but we were wrong, at least about the Cafe Marly space on Santa Monica Boulevard: We've confirmed that Mario and Sal Marino have taken over the former bistro for their third La Bottega Marino, the family's casual Italian restos (other locations are on Larchmont and next to Il Grano in West LA). Plans are to completely renovate and open in the fall. We never got the full story about Cafe Marly, but we know it closed last September for a "few months" to remodel, and the owner sold the Melrose location, which is now called Le Bistrot Francais.
