The Crumbs folks felt so bad about having to reneg on the promise of 1,000 free cupcakes today, so they handed out 1,000 free cupcakes today! "We thought, 'What if people don't check websites and show up anyway?' We had to do something," Crumbs West Coast partner Harley Bauter told Eater. "Our bakers worked all night. We started around 8am and by 10:47am, all the cupcakes were gone." But don't fret cupcake whores, when Crumbs officially opens (probably next week), there will be another free 1,000 treats.
