Developers who bid to buy a chunk of property that included the divey Mermaid Inn in Hermosa Beach backed out, so it's back on the market for a cool $27 mil. The sale will affect the Mermaid, Poop Deck, Good Stuff and a Pier Plaza building containing Cantina Real restaurant and Lappert’s Ice Cream. Naturally, some residents want to see the seaside stretch cleaned up, possibly a hotel; others want to keep the bar and local color (i.e. drunks) the way they are. [Daily Breeze; previously]
