It's already happened in Beverly Hills, and now lawmakers are looking to ban smoking on restaurant patios in Los Angeles. Councilman Greg Smith took the first step and introduced a motion to the City Council "to clear the air around outdoor patios where food is served." The ban wouldn't affect bars with patios. Such a law is bound to be controversial, but it will probably be a long time before anything passes. [ABC7]
