Plywood Report: Home, Kiss My Bundt, More Brats Brothers, The Stand and MORE

New, 4 comments

SILVER LAKE: Work is coming along at the new outpost for Home on the corner of Fletcher and Riverside. Signage now graces the giant birdhouse set above the colorful front. A Los Feliz staffer previously said the new Home would open "in a few weeks," and although that was vague, it still looks like it's at least a few more weeks out. Best guesstimation: Early to mid-July. [PLYWOOD]

MID-CITY: Blackburn & Sweetzer checked in with progress at Kiss My Bundt, the all-bundt, all-the-time sweet shop set to open on 3rd Street later this month. According to the KMB blog, owner Chrysta Wilson has been baking the mini-cakes as a full-fledged business since 2005. She's catered a slew of events since then, and has been working on this new space since she took it over last November. Another new entrepreneur deals with the city's beauracratic red tape: They wanted to open in January, then March, then May and now hopefully by the end of June. Stay tuned. [PLYWOOD]

MID-CITY: B&S also discovered that Brats Brothers, which opened not too long ago in Sherman Oaks, will be opening in the strip mall at the corner of 3rd Street and La Cienega. The owners tell us they hope to debut by late July, early August. [PLYWOOD]

WOODLAND HILLS: In more hot dog news: A reader tipped us off that she saw signage for The Stand just south of Fry's (5780 Canoga). A Stand rep told us they hope to open by the end of the month. [PLYWOOD]

PASADENA: Just a little Plywood check-in at the forthcoming Dena House on De Lacey Street in Old Town. Lots of construction going on inside, so we can't imagine this one opening until at least August. [PLYWOOD]

PASADENA: And speaking of De Lacey, the former DeLacey's Club 41 still sits idle. Some of the paper fell from the window and a peek inside revealed not a lot of activity, but some cool old wood and tile floors. The plan is for the Smith Brothers to turn it into an American barbecue-type joint to open sometime this summer.
