The Investors

Variety checks in with some of Hollywood's power players who've made the plunge into the restuarant biz. Eva Longoria Parker "asks for the numbers all the time" at Beso, producer Gale Ann Hurd scaled back but "still consults on the menu" at Pasadena's Vertical Wine Bar, but it's producer Gavin Polone who found out what hands-on really means at The Waffle: "The beginning was really hairy. I think I intended to spend less time on it, but you can't really do that. If it's your money, you have to pay attention to what's going on." And apparently that frenzy the blogs (*cough*) and websites created in the first few weeks didn't make things any easier. [Variety]
