Tomato Scare Cont.

Oh, and by the way, maybe tomatoes aren't responsible for the more than 800 cases of reported salmonella after all. The outbreak continues and tomatoes are still the top suspect, but now the FDA says the fruit coming from states considered "safe" (yes, California is one) could be picking up salmonella germs in packing sheds, warehouses or other facilities currently under investigation. "We have also kept an open mind about other possibilities and are looking into other ingredients," Dr. Patricia Griffin of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Friday. [AP/Forbes]
