Craft or BLT?
After Morton's closed, Vanity Fair decided they would hold their annual star-studded Oscar party at Craft, which made sense considering the Industry connections to the Century City restaurant. But VF pulled the plug on the soiree because of the writers' strike. Bummer. It was assumed they would keep to the contract for next year's party, but now Page Six says the magazine honchos don't want to use the "out-of-the-way restaurant" at all. Accoding to the gossiphounds, "Graydon Carter didn't like the corporate feel of the Century City eatery and is looking at BLT on Sunset Boulevard, instead." A rep for VF says they haven't made up their minds about where to do the Oscar dinner next year but are considering BLT for another smaller dinner in the fall. Local reps for BLT simply say they have no more information on the subject, and there's no word from Craft. We hear Miyagi's is available. Ha. We kid.
