LOS FELIZ: We definitely brought you pictures of Desert Rose before, but they really didn't do it justice. It's not until you see the rose in person that you realize the full stained-glass effect. First off, it's at least 15 feet tall with a glass green stem holding what looks like a two-foot rose bud. It's so big passersby stop in their tracks and point, drivers spend an extra few sectonds at the Prospect/Hillhurst light just looking at that thing. The way it glistens in the sun, captures the light, looks completely out of context is...something. Please oh please let it light it up at night---that would really add to the neighborhood. Desert Rose was supposed to open in early July, per our last check-in, but now we're hearing "sometime next month."
