We get this note from a pissed off reader: "I recently re-entered the service industry after 20 years and have been shocked that a manager has asked me for a cut of my tips. Excuse me???? I'm curious if this has become the norm lately. It floors me that ANY establishment would allow a manager to bilk employees of their hard earned tips. Can you put out a survey? This really chaps my ass." Folks, we leave that to you: Is it regular practice for managers to take tips? With the exception of Starbucks, where it was regular practice until employees sued.
